Synopsis

Three Men in a Boat, written by Jerome K. Jerome was originally intended to be a travel guide, but taken the shape of humorous account as the writing passes.

The author along with his two friends George Wingrave and Carl Hentschel (all of them are real life characters) spending an evening and discuss about their hectic work schedule which made them sick. They plan to go for a holiday trip and discuss various options including sea trips. However Jerome not accepting the Sea trip due to his bad experiences on his previous sea trip.

They finally decided to go for a boating holiday in the Thames River accompanying Montmorency, a fox terrier (which is a fiction character). The story is set at the time when commercial boat traffic had died out and boating was considered as leisure activity at Thames.  The beauty of this book is the jokes written in the book are fresh and witty even today. Their experiences of travel in Thames and the small town’s way side their travel is narrated by the author in a comical theme, which would be an enjoyable read for any one.
