Synopsis

Blue Beard is folktale written by Charles Perrault, a French writer who laid the foundations for creation of literary genre folklore. Most of his works were rewritten by Brothers Grimm such as Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots, Cinderella and The Sleeping Beauty.
 
This folktale narrates the story of BlueBeard, an ugly aristocrat with blue beard, married countless times and nobody knows the where about of his wives. When the story opens up, a young girl is persuaded and married to him. The same day of marriage, BlueBeard tells his wife that, he goes to go out for an important work. While leaving, he gives key of the rooms inside the house and tells her to use those rooms, except one room. When he leaves his curious to know about the forbidden room and opens it. She is shocked to witness bloodstains in the room and many women married by him were hanged to death. She comes out of the room and forgets to clean the bloodstains in the room key.

Bluebeard returns next day and realizes that his new wife has opened the forbidden room and understood his killings. He immediately pulls his sword to kill her, however consents to his wife’s request for a prayer for 15 minutes. Before the prayer time is finished, his wife’s brothers enter the house and kill Bluebeard.
