Synopsis

The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a picture story book written and illustrated by the English poet Robert Browning, whose notable works include Pauline: A Fragment of a Confession, Strafford, Paracelsus, and Christmas-Eve and Easter-Day.

The Pied Piper is a dramatic version of the real life incident which happened in the Hamelin, a German town. During the plague, the residents of Hamelin request the services of a rat-catcher. Due to mysterious reasons, the residents did not pay the rat-catcher.

The rat-catcher with his skills grab the attention of all the children of the Hamelin and taken them out of the city. The children never returned back, their status remain unknown. It is presumed that the children might have contracted plague and ultimately died.
