Synopsis

Nibsy's Christmas is a juvenile fiction story written by the Danish American writer Jacob August Riis.  Being a journalist and social documentary photographer, he was one of the early adopters of flash in photography that made him to be remembered as one of the fathers of photography. Most of his literary works reflect his social reform thinking which alleviate the bad living conditions of poor people by exposing their living conditions to the middle and upper classes.

Among his writings notable are How the Other Half Lives: Studies among the Tenements of New York, A Ten Years' War: An Account of the Battle with the Slum in New York, Is There a Santa Claus? and Neighbors: Life Stories of the Other Half.
