Synopsis

Little Bessie, the Careless Girl, written by Josephine Franklin is the story of a young poor girl who lost her father when she was too young to remember his face. Her mother the poor widow, once led a comfortable life before the death of her husband.

The death of her husband shattered her not only emotionally but financially also. She had to become a small time trader sending fruits collected from her local area and sold it to city market. The story is narrated that with their hard to live situation, how the careless Bessie get into troubles and realizing her mistakes and correcting it later.
