Synopsis

A Tale of two cities is based on the theme of revolutionaries’ vengeance against aristocracy. Aristocracy spoiled their life. Now it is the turn of revolutionaries. Unfortunately many aristocrats who were not guilty were also victims of this revolt against the aristocracy. Notable victims of this revolt are Charles Darnay, a former French aristocrat and Sydney Carton, a dissipated English barrister.

This Charles Dickens's historical fiction work is based on the incidents which took place during French revolution. The story is plotted around morally good characters in Sydney Carton, Charles Darnay, Doctor Manette, and Lucie Manette as well as ruthless figures like Madame Defarge. This novel narrated in the tones of Sentimental, sympathetic, sarcastic, horrified, grotesque and grim.

Bastle, Paris’s most deadly prison has an inmate for 18 years who is separated from her daughter Lucie. When they unite, take vengeance against the two men responsible for their lost life, which is a terrifying brutality of the French revolution.
