This book is broadly divided into three parts named The Mechanical Properties Of Wood, Factors Affecting The Mechanical Properties Of Wood, And Timber Testing.  Part I discusses the relation of wood to stresses and strains.  Part II explores the factors which affect the mechanical properties of wood. Part III describes the methods of timber testing which are followed by the U.S. Forest Service.
