Synopsis

The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is a fiction biography of Santa Claus written by Lyman Frank Baum, an American novelist remembered for his magnum opus The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and other children’s books such as Mother Goose in Prose, The Magical Monarch of Mo, The Enchanted Island of Yew, The Sea Fairies, They Played a New Hamlet, The Return of Dick Weemins, and The Maid of Arran.

This book explores the birth of Santa Claus found as an infant in the Forest of Burzee and has been brought up by Woodsman Ak, lioness Shiegra and Wood Nymph, Necile. The name the baby was derived as Claus, means Little One in Burzee language, then Neclaus, Necile's Little One.

Neclaus, after educated by the immortals of the Forest, was asked by ak to leave the forest and go where mortals live. However Neclaus was frustrated to see the mortal’s world which has war, brutality, poverty, child neglect and child abuse, which questioned the very base of mortal’s existence.

However slowly Neclaus started attracted towards children and helped them in many instances. In the preceding chapters it is revealed that Neclaus was granted immortality.
