Encyclopedia of Needlework is one of the most comprehensive books to be written in the hobby of needlework with illustrative pictures.  Translated into 17 Languages, this encyclopedia is written by Austrian needle worker Thérèse de Dillmont, who is considered to be one of the pioneers and internationally acclaimed personality in the hobby of needlework.  Numerous patterns are illustrated for the ease of reader's understanding. Though at first sight it looks like difficult to carryout, after careful reading of the text, the patterns can be easily carried out by any enthusiastic needle worker. One might think that why there is a need to learn the process of slow hand sewing method while the sewing machines has superseded them in terms of speed & accuracy. But we must remember that the plain sewing is the foundations of all sewing and must be learned before the patterns can be carried out to work in machines.
