The translator of this book claim to be the first English translation of the Latin version, though there are Italian and German translations were made earlier.

Apicius is known for his luxury loving, has written cook books in Latin which contains ancient cookery of imperial roman times. Three most important writers attributed to ancient cookery are ANACHARSIS, APICIUS and PETRONIUS.
